On 10 February over 150 Rainbows took part in our county international day.  This event was arranged by our international adviser with much assistance from other members of the wider county team.  The Rainbows had an amazing day as shown by the below photos. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event happen.

Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers had a great morning with Southend United and Anglia region today.  Members of both the men’s and ladies’ teams were present as were Pudsey and Sammi the Shrimp.  This was a sponsored event for members of Girlguiding to raise money for Girlguiding Anglia, Children in Need and Southend United Community…

Twenty Rainbows from Hockley enjoyed their first ever sleepover last weekend. They camped inside at Guidewoods using two person tents.  They enjoyed a number of unicorn themed activities including a wide game, dreamcatchers, unicorn cupcakes and decorated drawstring bags – and of course had s’mores! During the day 150 Rayleigh Rainbows and Brownies (and leaders!) enjoyed a variety of STEM activities from bubble blowing to finger printing at the division Science Day. The promised sunny weather didn’t arrive until the day ended but everyone stayed dry, and girls had an amazing time. Activities included glitter pots, litmus testing, space activities…

Last weekend 270 young members together with volunteers and Trefoil Guild members had a fun afternoon at Southend West division’s Renewal of Promise. Girls had the chance to learn about World Centres whilst taking part in numerous activities – including drumming, guidetingles, colouring, dancing, mask making, maracas, model making and French skipping.   Thank you…

Our Guideacres’ team  has arranged to have EXCLUSIVE USE of Kids Kingdom in Southend for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and leaders in Essex South East during November 2022. From Monday 14 November until Friday 18 November, there is a time slot each evening for sections who meet that night to come and spend time enjoying…

Girlguiding Thundersley district had a fantastic day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee jointly with 2nd Thundersley Scout Group. They celebrated with friends and families with afternoon teas, bouncy castles, games, and a barbecue. The day ended  with the lighting of a Beacon. Some wonderful memories made …….        

Benfleet district enjoyed a party to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. They made elephants, crowns, decorated bags, painted stones and bunting to decorate the church and enjoyed refreshments fit for a Queen!

Our county challenge to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is now live!  Complete seven challenges, one for each decade of the Queen’s reign. There are six areas and then the Platinum Challenges that can be completed as a unit, district or division. Badges, at 75p each, can be ordered until 10 September 2022. More information…
