County Day 2022

Almost 50 volunteers enjoyed a day training for our roles and meeting up with other volunteers.

Julie Nye
Prior to starting Alison, our County Commissioner, presented Julie Nye with her Training Qualification and the Jack Petchey leader award for Billericay division.  Congratulations and well done Julie!

During the morning, sessions were on offer about including young members with additional needs or challenging behaviours, exploring taking units out and about, and internet safety. Commissioners had the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss good practice.

Over lunch several young members set up fundraising stalls to help finance up coming international trips to South Korea and Europe.  Our Trefoil Guild were there to share what they do as well as our county badge secretary being there to enable us to buy a variety of badges and awards. Having been unable to run this day for the last two years, everyone enjoyed bring able to chat and catch up with people they may not have seen for a considerable time.

During the afternoon trainers offered sessions on whittling, cake decorating, bead craft, silly songs and yoga as well as simple knots and lashings.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who made this day possible.
