Langdon Hills
Kingston Ridge Scout campsite is owned by Basildon District Scouts and run by the Kingston Ridge Scout Active Support Unit (KRSAS).
It comprises 9 acres of woodland, grass fields and activity areas, surrounded by Essex Wildlife Trusts Langdon Reserve and Willow Park. Kingston Ridge is a campsite with wonderful facilities. Despite its relatively central location, Kingston Ridge wouldn’t be out of place in the Cornish countryside yet still within walking distance of Basildon Town Centre.
The campsite is open for bookings from 1 March through to the end of October depending on the weather and ground conditions.
There is a 90metre zip wire, a 11m free-standing climbing and abseiling tower, archery and air-rifle ranges, and slack lines, and for younger members an abseiling slope (Beaver Crag), Beaver Towers and soft archery and nerf guns.
The site also has a sports field, an adventure playground, pioneering equipment, and an orienteering course.
