Guidewoods

Situated on the edge of Hockley Woods, Essex, Guidewoods comprises 3.5 acres of beautiful ancient woodland, surrounding a one acre campsite, with a purpose built activity and training centre, completed in December 2003.

Local amenities
Hockley village is located within 1.5 kilometres and has a variety of shops.
Buses to Rayleigh, Rochford and Southend pass the top of Bullwood Approach.

Directions to site
From M25 Junction 29 take A127 eastbound towards Southend, slip road A129 at Rayleigh Weir. Through Rayleigh passing Holy Trinity church. B1013 towards Hockley for approx 2 miles. Pass No Entry sign on left (Fountain Lane), Bullwood Approach is a short distance past on the right hand side. Guidewoods is entered through the double gates at the bottom of Bullwood Approach.

Accessibility
Woodland Lodge (Guidewoods) is suitable for disabled users and is accessed directly from the block paved car park via the main double opening door.  It contains a washroom and shower off of the main hall.   A dormitory (Hornbeam) suitable for wheelchair and disabled users, comprising of one set of 3ft bunk beds and two single beds which also has direct access to the car park via a ramp. The First Aid room has a small sink and disabled changing table. At the rear of the main hall there is also access to a covered veranda through the double doors.  There is paving around the Lodge which would be suitable for wheelchairs, although is not entirely flat.  The grounds in the woodland are uneven.  We do NOT supply hoists.
